Step 1: Notarization

GENERAL DOCUMENTS: We will notarize your documents by our local notary public.

STATE AUTHENTICATED AND FEDERALLY ISSUED DOCUMENTS: Do not require a local notary and can skip this step. Federal Documents can go directly to step 3.

Step 2: Secretary of State Authentication

GENERAL DOCUMENTS: We will hand deliver your notarized documents to the DC Secretary of State for a State Authentication. Processing takes 1 – 2 business days.

FEDERALLY ISSUED DOCUMENTS: Documents issued by the Federal government can skip this step.

STATE GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS: Marriage, Birth, Death Certificates. These documents must be Authenticated by the Secretary of State that issued the document before sending to Monument Visa.

For Example: If you were born in California then your birth certificate must be Authenticated by the California Secretary of State before sending to us.

Need your originals legalized? Not a problem. Mail us your originals along with the documents below and we will take care of the entire process for you).

**FBI Criminal Background Checks can only be uploaded or emailed if you received a digital copy from the channeler. Scans/photocopies are not accepted. Otherwise, FBI Criminal Background Check must be sent to us via USPS/FedEx/UPS.

**Marriage/Birth/Death Certificates must be authenticated by the State that issued them before sending to us.
